Vocare in the Latin means “to call, or to summons”. This house is a place for those in pastoral vocation or Christian leadership - seasoned and emerging - or who are in a formational process of discernment and/or study. Our hope is the Vocare House can be a getaway for rest, renewal, study, contemplation and community.
Vocare House sits within the beautiful neighborhood of Kerns in Northeast Portland. The house is close to downtown Portland, with wholefoods, eateries, coffee shops, parks, all in a walkable distance. Right across the street is the Neighbours Table Coffee & Commons, our own neighboring coffee spot with great coffee, delicious breakfast sandwich, toasted bagels, and/or healthy snacks, plus plenty of room to read, write, work and meet.
